In March of this year, the American Rescue Plan Act was passed.  This legislation is something that we see once in a decade and it will put a lot of money into people's pockets. We have talked about it on our Podcast and have been interviewed on NCW Life. With this act, Americans using the Affordable Care Act are going to see an increase in their Advance Premium Tax Credits and therefore a decrease in their monthly premiums.

If you are getting the email, it's because you make over 400% of the Federal Poverty level and did not qualify for those tax credits.  The good news is, the act eliminated the financial cliff for folks like you.  You will no longer pay more than 8.5% of your gross income for health insurance. This could conceivably save you hundreds of dollars a month.

In order to take full advantage of this you must update your Washington Healthplanfinder file and make sure they have your current contact information.  If you are one of the families that chose not to declare your income because you knew you made too much, now is the time to change that.  Without declaring your income, they won't know how much to discount you.
