Hospitality Minnesota's Day at the Capitol is January 30th.

Dear Legislator,

Hospitality Minnesota's Day at the Capitol is January 30th.  There are members from your district that would like a brief time to talk to you.  Would you have some time between 1-4 PM on January 30th?

Also, I wanted to remind you about our legislative and staff reception at the history center from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Here are a few of the issues we hope to discuss:

  • Ensuring uniform labor regulations and the concept of “one state – one rule” by preempting the authority of cities or counties to establish local minimum wages or benefit mandates.

  • Support legislation providing a vendor allowance to businesses that collect state and local sales taxes and remit them to the state electronically and on time.

  • Support strong legislation to reduce the risk of predatory lawsuits under the American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA.)

  • Phase out the statewide business property tax.

  • Recognize the value of tips and improve the equity between tipped and non-tipped employees by removing the inflation factor from the minimum wage of tipped workers who earn $12.00 an hour or more with their wage and tips.

Our members are looking forward to meeting with you.

Please contact Leah Poldoski to schedule a time - 612.741.8979.

Thanks,

Leah Poldoski
