Hi {first_name},
In our last email we discussed, even though they account for 10%, how much hard inquiries can affect your credit report score. We also mentioned in our last email that we’d talk about how hard inquiries can be removed.
So, can I really remove hard inquiries?
Please understand that legitimate information can not be removed from your credit report. That being said, quite often a lender will do a hard inquiry that you did not authorize. Those can be removed.
As with other types of negative aspects of your credit report, inquiries can be questioned as well. You need to do this in writing for it to be effective, but you can make a request of the credit bureaus that they investigate any unauthorized inquiries.
They are required to take action within 30 days of your request, or remove the inquiries in question.
Our next email will be the last in this series about inquiries, preapprovals and inquiries.
Sincerely,
