How to file a claim, and what to do after a storm strikes

Hi {first_name}, this is Joe your friendly neighborhood insurance agent with Nelson Insurance Agency. I wanted to drop a few quick notes about how to file a claim if needed.

If you have damage:


1.) Take time to assess and secure your property to help prevent future damage.
Get some tarps, cardboard, trashbags, and do whatever you can to prevent more damage from wind driven rain. Save your receipts!
2.) Once you've secured the property, if needed call Servepro or another emergency disaster clean up organization. They can help clean up the mess and prevent any future damage from happening. Again, save all receipts!
3.) Get ready to file your claim. Call or text me on our mobile hotline at 850-517-3232 or our main office line at 850-607-2009.
4.) Check to see if your underwriting company has a website or mobile app - you can often file a claim, as well as take pictures of the damage which will help with faster claims response time.
5.) Check with me, our facebook, or on the website joenelsoninsurance.com to see any updates on if there is a mobile claims response team near you.

This process can be tricky. Sometimes there simply aren't enough "company" reps to go around. Getting your own estimates can at times, drastically increase the claims payout time. I will work my hardest to help you get the help you need. Please reach out if you need me!
