When I first started selling insurance my door was open to any business.  If you wanted insurance, I wanted to help you because I wanted to be that trusted advisor.   I could talk insurance all day long.
 
Then I changed my thinking.  I just knew that I would be able to achieve much better outcomes for my business clients if I started being more intentional about who I worked with and how I staffed my agency.
 
I wanted people that not only understood insurance, but also understand the client’s real needs as well.
 
I went to school for Culinary Arts and worked in many restaurants.  If I was talking to a potential client who owned a chain of restaurants, I could talk all day.  I understood that business.   The same could not be said about a doctor or dentist.   Aside, from being a patient, I didn’t know anything about that business.   That’s when I decided I needed to hire people that understood both sides of the coin similar to how I understood the needs of clients in the food business.
 
To me, that’s the REAL benefit of all this.  Getting the right people on the bus to work with my clients and help them understand their insurance needs in a “language” they speak.
