{first_name},

A few weeks ago we talked about why you should use an independent loan originator versus going straight to the banks to acquire a home loan.

And today we're going to talk about what happens when you don't.

What Happens If I Don't Use An Independent Loan Originator?

Almost all of the large banks and credit unions rely on their underwriting department to handle all of the tasks associated to the loan approval process. Unfortunately these departments are often overwhelmed and overloaded with more loan applications then they can possibly handle.

Ultimately you become a number in a pile of many — and these departments aren’t working as representatives to you the borrower.

However, when you choose to work with an independent loan originator, whether it’s a broker or a small banker, your mortgage rates won’t be higher than those offered through a big bank.

In fact, in many cases, the rates will most likely be lower, partly because independent mortgage brokers typically have more loan sources available to them compared to the big banks. In addition, independent loan officers provide that personal touch and one-on-one communication rather than one to many.
